*1 "Mr Boundy and Mr Bretten went to fight the Captain thretend to put them in irons" - no doubt not "went to fight the Captain" but rather "Mr Boundy and Mr Bretten went to fight, so the Captain threatened to put them in irons".

*3 August 17 "Boxes from the Ship to the Coffee Shop 296 George Street" - I imagine that this was a hostel or boarding house.
